Spring is finally here, and with it comes the anticipation of another season of Neighbour to Neighbour giveaway events! As we gear up for this year's activities, I'm thrilled to share some exciting changes and updates that will enhance our events and better serve our communities.
1. Free Donating Process: Last year, we implemented a $10 donation fee for donating at the park to help cover the costs of transportation. Your support was invaluable, and I am incredibly grateful for those who contributed. This year, however, we've reevaluated our approach and have shifted to a free donating process. We're exploring alternative avenues for revenue, such as our new online thrift store, to support our events without relying on donation fees.
2. Online Thrift Store: Our online thrift store is now live and operational! Featuring a rewards program and e-gift cards, it offers a convenient way to support our cause while finding great deals on quality items. Keep an eye on our product list as we continue to add new items regularly.
3. Storage Facilities: With the move to a new house, we now have ample storage space for all your donations. This means you can donate well in advance of our events and still have time for your weekend plans, whether it's heading to the cottage or enjoying other activities.
4. U-Haul Van Rentals: To expand our reach and serve more communities, we'll be renting a U-Haul van for every event. This will enable us to bring our services to areas like Orleans, Vanier, Barrhaven, and beyond. We recognize that families in need reside in various parts of Ontario, and we're excited to extend our support further afield.
5. Park Rentals: While we remain unincorporated, we're committed to adhering to city regulations and are in the process of applying for park rentals. This will allow us to bring our events directly to your community, making it even easier for you to access our services.
6. Online Donations: Our new website now offers a convenient platform for making monetary donations from the comfort of your own home. While we may not be a registered charity and cannot provide donation receipts, please know that your contributions still have a significant impact and play a vital role in advancing our mission.
These changes represent just a few of the exciting developments taking place this year as we continue our journey to make a difference in the lives of those in need. If you'd like to stay updated and be part of our journey, follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/neighbourtoneighbourottawa, subscribe on our site or add your email to our email list at neighbourtoneighbourinfo@gmail.com.
I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you for your continued support. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in our communities and brighten the lives of those who need it most.
Warm regards,
Michelle
